Apostates Punishing “Apostasy”? -The Tragic Case of “Sister” Anastasia and the Hypocrisy of the Modernist Hierarchy.
Preamble:
Recently the social media space was literally set ablaze by the story of a certain “Reverend Sister” Anastasia of the “Congregation of Mother of Perpetual Help of the Archangels Sisters” (MOPHAS), Auchi Diocese, Edo State.
The narrative is sharply forked: on the one hand she is seen as a hero, on the other hand, she is seen as a villain. But could either tags be applied to her in the strict sense? Not very likely, but that is not the focus of our concern here.
What is of far greater importance is the deeper reality her case exposes. Beneath the heated arguments and surface-level commentaries lies a tragic revelation: the Modernist strategy of diversion and hypocrisy at work. This dimension, strangely overlooked by most commentators and analysts, is the missing link we intend to uncover in this article.
Her Story Outline:
1. What are “Sister” Anastasia’s Claims?
She declared on Facebook (August 24, 2025):
- Sisters are not ornaments in habits.
- They are not commodities for priests to use at will.
- They are not mistresses in veils, but consecrated women called by God.
- Strongly emphasized: “Reverend Sisters are not priests’ wives and bedmates.”
2. Authoritative Response
- No known investigation into her allegations.
- Instead, she was served a letter of dismissal from her congregation.
- Her belongings were packed outside her room.
- Her religious habit was taken away.
- She was formally expelled from the convent.
3. Timeline Contradictions
- Dismissal letter is said to be dated July 21, 2025.
- Viral Facebook post said to have been made on August 24, 2025.
- The letter was only received September 24, 2025.
This raises troubling questions:
- Was she dismissed before the Facebook post?
- Why was the letter delayed over two months?
4. Apostasy Reports
- Reports said she renounced Christianity and embraced Islam.
- She allegedly asked to be called Salamatu.
- The public attention was directed to focus on her conversion, ignoring her allegations.
- Many capitalized on her apostasy to discredit her entirely.
- The dismissal is said to be a logical effect of her Apostasy.
5. Unanswered Questions
- Did the “Church” investigate whether her claims were true?
- Was her mental health evaluated before dismissal?
- Or was the action a “fast food” reaction to protect institutional image?
Now, whatever is amiss in the details of the story outline is negligible. One thing is sure: she was dismissed from her congregation, and the reason boldly adduced by those who posed to know the mind of the significant authorities involved is her supposed apostasy. This must be kept into perspective to appreciate the strange irony at play.

Apostasy in act... Interreligious peace meeting... |
A Strange Irony
Now, picture this: a hierarchy that tells the world
- Catholics and Muslims “worship the same one God,”
- that signs joint declarations with imams about “common faith,”
- that kisses the Qur’an and prays in mosques
- Builds mosques for Muslims
—turns around and excommunicates a poor sister who, in a burst of pain and frustration, renounced the false caricature of Catholicism she saw before her and declared herself Muslim (assuming she actually did)
You see the irony. Don't you?
Those who for decades have betrayed the Faith in boardrooms, synods, and interreligious dismal dramatic spectacles now sit in judgment over one woman’s desperate outcry. Apostates themselves, they excommunicate a soul crying from the inside of their own collapsing house.
The Modernist Diversion
The Modernist hierarchy is never without a trick, and one of its favorite is diversion. When truth burns too close to the skin, they quickly throw a cloak of confusion over it. “Sister” Anastasia’s case is a perfect example.
- Diversion from substance to scandal.
Her initial words were about abuse, misuse, and the dignity of consecrated life. But instead of asking whether wolves in collars were indeed devouring unsuspecting sheep, they shifted the spotlight to her so-called “apostasy.” Thus the cry of conscience was buried under the dust of accusation.
- Diversion from truth to optics.
A house on fire is easier to hide if you draw the crowd’s attention to a broken window. That is the Modernist method. Rather than confront corruption in their ranks, they found it convenient to brand her as a fallen sister, a rebel, a renegade. The system was preserved, the faces remained polished, but the rot beneath was untouched.
- Diversion from Christ to man.
The supreme tragedy: the honor of Christ is trampled underfoot so that the honor of the institution might stand tall. The Man of Sorrows, crowned with thorns, is forgotten, while impostor officials in mitres and robes polish their own crowns of human respectability.
That is a glimpse of the length and breadth, the height and depth of Modernist diversionism; a contrivance that can only be inspired from the pit of hell by the father of lies and confusion.
The Modernist Hierarchy: A Walking Sermon of Apostasy
Consider that the Modernist hierarchy itself is a walking sermon of apostasy—often more in actions than in plain words.
- In words, they seldom speak blunt denials of Christ. Instead, they wrap poison in honeyed speech: “Christians and Muslims worship the same one God,” “All religions are paths to the same heaven,” "religious pluralism is willed by God", “The Church must embrace pluralism.”
Though such phrases sound tolerant, they cut the Faith at its root. For if all gods are one, the God-Man is no longer unique; the Cross is no longer necessary; the Church is no longer the Ark of salvation.
- In actions, their apostasy is even clearer. They bow in mosques, build mosques, pray at synagogues, plant trees in pagan groves, and stand in silence while infidels chant invocations to demons. They place the Buddha on Catholic altars, let the Koran be enthroned beside the Gospel, the kiss the Koran in veneration, and invite the worshippers of idols to burn incense in what were once consecrated shrines. Each gesture is louder than a thousand speeches.
This is the bitter irony: the same hierarchy that tolerates its own visible apostasy in action—by kissing the Qur’an, blessing false worship, and turning the House of God into an ecumenical stage—turns around and excommunicates a confused Sister for allegedly making her apostasy manifest in words, in her bitter protest of frustration.
- They preach unity with Muslims, yet cast her out when she joins Muslims (if she actually did).
- They declare that Catholics and pagans adore the same Creator, yet treat her as unclean when she takes their theory to its logical conclusion.
Thus their hypocrisy is laid bare. They cloak their apostasy in the garments of diplomacy, while she, less artful, exposed hers in the bluntness of a public renunciation on the social media. Both are grievous, but one is celebrated as “dialogue” and “fraternity,” while the other is punished as scandal.
The divine irony is this: Sister Anastasia’s alleged fall is a mirror held up to the Modernist prelates. Her supposed apostasy in words is but an echo of their institutionalized apostasy in deeds. She is the child of their doctrines, the bitter fruit of their tree.
It is this lived apostasy—masked as renewal—that makes their judgment of Sister Anastasia a ludicrous spectacle of irony.
"Why seest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye; and seest not the beam that is in thy own eye?” (Matt. 7:3)
Apostates Sitting in Judgment
Let us not forget:
- The same hierarchy promotes the pan-Christianity of ecumenism even though the Catholic Church had seared that lending a helping hand to the pan-Christian endeavor is tantamount to abandoning the religion revealed by God i.e. apostasy. ( See Pius XI, Mortalium Animos, §10 (January 6, 1928)
- The same hierarchy teaches that the Catholic and Muslim worship are directed to the same God, as if denying the Trinity and rejecting the Incarnation were mere cultural differences.
- The same hierarchy signs interreligious accords where the divinity of Christ is quietly set aside for the sake of “dialogue.”
- The same hierarchy calls mosques and synagogues “houses of prayer,” though they reject the only Mediator between God and man.
Tell me, then: if they truly believe Catholics worship “the same one God,” why punish a sister for going over to Islam? If Rome kisses the Qur’an, why can’t she veil herself as Salamatu?
Here lies the hypocrisy.
- They will not punish her because she supposedly denied Christ—they punish her because she embarrassed them.
- They will not excommunicate themselves for their theological treachery—they will excommunicate her for airing the dirty laundry.
“Satan himself transformeth himself into an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11:14
“Accompaniment?!” “Dialogue?!” “Inclusiveness?!”
These are the three golden slogans of the Modernist age—waved like banners in synods and plastered on church bulletins. But let truth pierce the comfort of their circle, and these banners fall like wet paper.
- Where was accompaniment when a consecrated soul, according to their own reckoning, cried for help? Gone—vanished like smoke in the wind. They preach walking with the wounded, yet abandon their own the moment her wounds expose their hypocrisy.
- Where was the dialogue? They hold endless talks with pagans, atheists, and idol-priests—but silence the nun who speaks too plainly. Modernist dialogue, we know, is for everyone except the inconvenient Catholic. It seems it is neither for an inconvenient “Reverend Sister”!
- And inclusiveness? They open arms to every creed but close the convent door on their own sister. Their inclusiveness embraces the world, not the Cross.
Thus their favorite words ring hollow—beautiful masks covering a hideous face. Theirs is not the language of the Gospel but of public relations: smooth, bright, and empty.
As Our Lord said:
“This people honoureth Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.” — Mark 7:6
A Deeper Tragedy
Now, do not misunderstand. Apostasy is never excusable. To renounce Christ for Muhammad is not a small misstep but a mortal wound to the Sacred Heart.
Sister Anastasia’s act, if true, cannot be praised; it is a fall, a betrayal, a tragedy. Yet to treat it as an isolated lapse is to miss the deeper lesson. Such a collapse is not a random accident—it is the bitter harvest of a poisoned tree, the tree of Modernism that has spread its roots through the vineyard of the Lord.
When supposed shepherds preach error, the sheep cannot but stumble.
When the supposed Bride of Christ is paraded in the rags of syncretism, supposed consecrated virgins lose their sense of holy dignity.
When the altar of God is defiled with the smoke of strange incense, can we marvel if a soul, wounded and unheard, flees into the desert of Islam?
A fall as ascribed to Sister Anastasia, is grievous—but it is also an indictment. It exposes not only her weakness, but the deeper treachery of a hierarchy that opens the gates to pagans and Muslims while letting its own lambs be devoured. The tragedy is hers, but the guilt is theirs.
Real Wounds, False Imputation of Guilt
Sister Anastasia’s pain is real. The silence of her superiors, the cold walls of indifference, the mockery of her consecration—these are deep wounds, not inventions. Yet in her anguish, she turned her anger toward the Catholic Church, not realizing that she had long been serving a Modernist counterfeit which wears the Church’s garments but not her Spirit.
She mistook the treachery of wolves for the cruelty of the Bride, and thus, purportedly, fled from what she thought was Christ’s fold—when in truth, she was fleeing from impostors who had already exiled Him from their midst.
Her fall, if true, is tragic, yet not hopeless. The same Lord who met Saul on the road to Damascus can meet her on the road to Mecca. If she listens, she will find that the voice calling her back is not that of condemnation, but of mercy.
May her wounds, when touched by grace, become windows of light, leading her not back to the counterfeit, but to the True Faith she once sought to serve.
“He healeth the broken of heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” — Psalm 146:3
Summing Up
So here we stand:
- a Modernist hierarchy that promotes systematic institutionalized apostasy through its promotion of ecumenism and pan-Christianity and Pan-Religiousity yet condemns one who has shared in this same apostasy for the crime of apostasy.
- a Modernist hierarchy that embraces Islam in the name of “dialogue,” yet condemns a sister who in anguish allegedly embraced Islam herself with a dramatic touch.
- Systematic institutionalized Apostates condemning a singular alleged apostasy.
- Hypocrites posing as defenders of the Faith they themselves have systematically dismantled and continue still.
“Sister” Anastasia is not a hero, nor simply a villain. She is a tragic witness—her claimed fall cries out against the Impostor shepherds who wounded her and against the Modernist hypocrisy that consumes the Church’s credibility. How one would wish she discovers the True Catholic Faith!
What can we hope to be the positive fruit of her story? Precisely this: that it awakens Catholics of good will deceived thus far to see through the Modernist deception, to return to the solid rock of Tradition, and to cling with greater fidelity to Him who is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”
May Our Lady, Destroyer of All Heresies, intercede for her and for those who have wounded her, that truth may heal where error has burned.
I personally have been waiting for their article... This is a case of charcoal calling pot black..
ReplyDeleteI wish we can help her back to True Catholicism

DeleteHello if you're the sister in question please contact us. I have sent you messages on Facebook messenger.
DeleteIf you are Sister please contact sedevacantist Catholic Priest. We know something about being severely ostracized. From a layman. Btw, this whole episode could turn out very well for you. Peace
DeleteAs someone from that part of the country, I attest that all she was saying concerning the "priests" and "sisters" is true. Instead of addressing the issue, Solomon Olumekhor was busy focusing on her health conditions. There is still the case of "Fr" Martins Enegbuma who was deported to from Edinburgh because of same scandal.
