love for LOVE
"Behold the Heart that has loved men so much a d receives from them in exchange nothing but coldness, indifference and sin"
Ponder:
After having studied [fill in whatever you have studied,] for many years, have you ever attained to that knowledge that surpasses others: the knowledge of the love of Jesus Christ? Have you ever considered the dimensions of this love: "what is the breath and length a d height and depth"? Our Lord gives us evident and convincing proof of His Love from the height of the cross and from the depth of the tabernacle... Consider this, you will arrive finally at knowing His love. Won over by it, you will finally accept Him as your true God, and be faithful to Him...
What keeps us away from His love is the fatal break between the faith we profess and the conduct we maintain; between the exterior devotion we show to the world and the interior Indiference we pursue! What does that make of the Lord? As a result, He is not living in us...because there are others that live within us. Our despotic and selfish ego lives...cruel, calculating, greedy. There, lives an attachment to earth and to earthly things. There, lives passion and affection involving us in too many relationships and entanglements with earthly creatures.
Not to acknowledge Love! To turn one's back on Love! To seek satisfaction in the love of creatures! What an accumulation of sins and insults on our part!
Thus, the essential nature of devotion to the Sacred Heart is one of reparation. We have the obligation of making reparation for our many and grievous sins... Accepting from God any punishment or disposition contrary to our wishes: accepting everything, everything in order to offer reparation for the evil we have done. An attempt to make an exchange of love for Love, to unite us with Him in a truly lasting life of love.
