Faith in Exile: How to Know You’ve Lost the Catholic Faith—and What to Do Before It’s Too Late
Preamble:
This is a memorial publication. Today, August 1st, 2025, marks the 8th anniversary of my flight from the Modernist, ecumenical, synodal Pan-Religious impostor institution occupying Catholic buildings.
On this day, I wish to address one of the few questions I have received recently which occupies a pride of place:
Can a Catholic lose his Catholic faith without knowing, especially in a case where one ignorantly follows the crowd to believe in one or more heresies?
This is a two-in-one question. The first is "can faith be lost?" The second: "can faith be lost without one knowing it?"
These questions are very much relevant today in the face of the rotten fruits of modernist Indifferentism that abounds.
The simple response to each is an absolute YES.
Now, what are the signs that someone ensnared in the Modernist, ecumenical synodal Pan-Religious impostor church has indeed lost his Catholic Faith? What are the signs of hope in the middle of ruins? What must be done by one still retaining the gift of the Catholic Faith in the midst of the synodal, Pan-Religious ruins? Lets get to the details!
What is Christian Faith?
It is:
“An assent of the intellect to revealed truth by command of the will moved by God through grace.” ~ Summa Theologiae, II-II, q. 2, a. 9
Christian faith is the firm conviction, arrived at with the grace of God, that all that Jesus Christ taught on earth is true, as well as all that the Catholic Church teaches by the commission she has received from Him.
“Faith is the first of all the virtues necessary for salvation… and without it, no one can please God.” -St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologiae, II-II, q. 2, a. 2
Thus, to possess the virtue of faith, one must believe all revealed truths with supernatural assent, not merely external conformity or emotional attachment.
This faith
...which is the beginning of human salvation, the Catholic Church professes to be a supernatural virtue, by means of which, with the grace of God inspiring and assisting us, we believe to be true what He has revealed, not because we perceive its intrinsic truth by the natural light of reason, but because of the authority of God himself, who makes the revelation and can neither deceive nor be deceived. ~ Vatican Council.
Can Faith Be Lost?
Yes, faith can be lost, and the Church teaches this with clarity and gravity. The very nature of faith—a supernatural virtue infused by God, requiring both the intellect and will to assent to revealed truth—means it can be weakened, wounded, or even destroyed.
Now, that firm conviction and intellectual assent to revealed truth can be weakened, wounded or lost in at least five ways:
- By indifference to the doctrines of faith;
- By wilful doubt respecting the truths of faith;
- By reading books or other literature that is hostile to the faith;
- By frequenting the assemblies of those who are hostile to the faith;
- By neglecting the practice of one’s religion.
- What It Means:
“Lukewarmness is more detestable to Me than open enmity.”— Our Lord to St. Margaret Mary
What are the signs of one who indifferent to the doctrines of the Faith?
- Disinterest in catechesis or doctrinal clarity.
- Saying things like “doctrine divides,” or “what matters is love, not theology.”
- Avoiding theological discussion as “too rigid” or “not pastoral.”
- Watching or listening to false teachers without concern.
- Why is this indifference Dangerous:
“Whoever denies a single dogma has lost the Faith.”— Pope Leo XIII, Satis Cognitum
Signs to look out for:
- Denying the Real Presence, papal infallibility, the existence of Hell, etc.
- Saying: “I don’t believe that anymore” or “That teaching doesn’t make sense to me.”
- Preferring “my personal relationship with Jesus” over dogmatic truths.
- Treating articles of Faith as open for debate.
- What It Means:
- Quoting or admiring Modernist authors, Protestant thinkers, New Age writers.
- Using terms from false religions (“energy,” “manifest,” “oneness with the universe”).
- Preferring secular or psychological advice over the Gospel.
- What It Means:
- Attending Pentecostal services “for fellowship.”
- Participating in Ecumenical and interfaith events.
- Believing that all worship services are somehow valid or “spiritual.”
- What It Means:
Faith without works is dead. — James 2:26
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” — John 14:15
What are the signs of one neglect the practice of Religion?
- Missing Sunday Mass habitually without mortal necessity.
- Abandoning the Rosary or sacramental Confession.
- Living in sin without remorse or confession.
- Claiming to be “spiritual but not religious.”
- Denial of the Exclusive Truth of the Catholic Church. Having taken over dosage of the Modernist poison -indiferentism- such believes all religions are equally valid paths to God.
- Rejection of Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus: As a logical consequence of the same Indifferentism, such scoffs at the dogma “Outside the Church there is no salvation.”
- Subjection of Doctrine to Dialogue: Such prefers "dialogue" over conversion, and avoids proclaiming Christ as the only Truth.
- Understanding of the Mass as “Celebration”: Such sees the Holy Sacrifice as a communal meal or festivity, not a propitiatory sacrifice.
- Acceptance of Female Ministers and Lay-led Liturgies: Supports altar girls, lay preaching, or “eucharistic services” led by laity.
- Moral Relativism and Laxity: Justifies contraception, divorce, sodomy, cohabitation under “pastoral accompaniment.”
- Addiction to Novelty and Change: Embraces constant liturgical reforms, changing doctrines, and "synodal discernment."
- Indifference to Tradition and Sacred Liturgy: Shows contempt toward the Traditional Catholic Mass and ancient devotions.
- Obsession with “Mother Earth,” Environment, and Human Fraternity: Treats ecological issues and Judeo-Masonic UN-style fraternity as higher than salvation of souls.
- Glorification of Heretics, Pagans, and Apostates: Praises Luther, visits mosques and temples, joins interfaith ceremonies.
- Blind Obedience to the Apostate Hierarchy: Defends every heresy, scandal, or liturgical abuse just because a supposed "Pope" or bishop said it—placing man above unchanging Truth.
- Hatred or Suspicion Toward True Catholics: Labels faithful Traditionalists as “schismatic,” “rigid,” “dangerous,” or “cultish.” How well our Lord did say “They will persecute you... thinking they offer worship to God” (John 16:2) –
- A number of those ensnared in the Modernist, ecumenical synodal, Pan-Religious impostor church occupying Catholic buildings suffer from ignorance of the fact that what they have grown used to is not the Catholic religion. This ignorance of fact extends in some cases to the knowledge of the intrinsic sinfulness of interfaith worship, being victims of Modernist indifferentist Catechesis.
- Some may be invincibly ignorant- i.e. their ignorance cannot be overcome even with reasonable effort; not culpable.
- Some are vincibly ignorant: their Ignorance could be overcome by due diligence or effort and they are culpable to the degree of neglect.
- Those vincibly ignorant fall under these degrees: Merely vincible: Some effort made, but not sufficient. Crass or supine: Little or no effort to learn what one should. Affected: these deliberately choose to remain ignorant in order to remain in the business of promoting Modernism for it's temporary dividends.
- Social acceptance and applause from the world.
- Advancement and positions of influence.
- Access to funding and material benefits.
- Wider appeal to lukewarm or worldly Catholics.
- Personal comfort by avoiding hard truths and sacrifice.
- Reputation for being “pastoral” or “merciful.”
- Ecumenical prestige and global recognition.
He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who gathers not with Me scatters (Matt. 12:30).
- Interior Disgust at Liturgical Abuse:
- Reverence for the Holy Eucharist:
- Suspicion Toward Doctrinal Novelties:
- Longing for the Sacred and the True:
- Affection for the Saints and the Old Ways:
- Discomfort with Ecumenical Gimmicks:
- Instinctive Love for the Papacy — But Trouble in Conscience:
- Flee the Poisoned Pasture:
- Seek the True Mass and Doctrine:
- Read Pre-Vatican II Saints and Popes:
- Pray the Rosary Daily for Light and Strength:
- Study the Dogma "Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus":
- Suffer with the Church, Not Against Her:
- It is weakened through habitual neglect, sin, or lukewarmness —still present, but fragile.
- It is wounded, i.e, obscured or clouded, by venial sins, false ideas, or compromises with error. The virtue remains, but its clarity is damaged.
- It is destroyed through mortal sin against faith, such as heresy, apostasy, or deliberate doubt. Here it does not merely “sleep”—it is dead unless revived by repentance and grace.
- Have you suffered the shipwreck concerning the Faith while pitifully ensnared in the Modernist, ecumenical synodal, Pan-Religious impostor church occupying Catholic buildings? Make haste to reclaim it!
- Have you been spared the infection with the Modernist, ecumenical synodal, Pan-Religious poison though immersed in the ruins? As a token of gratitude to divine Providence, make haste to use the escape route! Do not delay! Follow the narrow path!
